FATHER OF THE BRIDE | A FATHERS LOVE ON YOUR WEDDING DAY
This may bring a tear to your eye. I’ve cried during a few of these moments. Father’s and father figures on their daughters wedding day show real love, it’s a deep deep love that only a daughter knows and can feel. It’s a love that will be with you both forever. I’m able to remind people of the love that exists in their life and of the moments they are about to witness.
Seeing your daughter getting married will be one of the proudest moments in your life. Mothers play a huge role in the lead up to a wedding with their daughter, the planning and helping with lots of ideas. But what do fathers do? Some just hold the cheque book and sign away others get involved and love every part of the planning. But what I have seen is no matter how much or how little has gone on during the lead up, fathers come to bloom on the most important day of all…Wedding day.
Some fathers in the morning just sit, wait and watch the chaos of hair and makeup all unfold whilst grabbing a bacon butty, some seek quiet and calm, some put on the slap stick apron and get stuck in, some frantically make final edits to the speech and others just boil an egg. Some even have to get their hands oily and fix the broken down vintage camper van and some just like to look out the window to check the weather, and all before that magical moment when a father see’s his beautiful daughter in her dress for the first time. Some can’t even bring themselves to look at their daughter as the emotion overcomes them.
Walking down the isle holding her arm so tight because he can’t to let her go…The giving away and the moment when you pass her hand to her husband to be. Sometimes I get to see a father actually conduct the ceremony and I can tell you this is an emotional wedding. The speeches that bring back childhood memories, not setting out to embarrass but just simply a father of the bride remembering the past when he had a tiny little girl. The tears…they come! I see it often. Then sometimes there’s the father and daughter first dace, and those tears come! A wedding day is an emotional one
I see it often…
