Kris and Frida Nordfeldt brought little Kimberley to the studio when she was 10 days old.
This time, the time of new life is precious. Any parent will know that the first few days, weeks and months after having your baby go past in an instant and there are times when you want to slow things down but you just can’t.
Today we are able to capture this brief time when your baby is a newborn…they will always be your baby even when they are grown up right! I don’t think my parents have any more than 5 photographs of me as a newborn and these are ones where I’m wrapped up in thick crochet blanket and all you can see is a tiny head popping out. But what about babies that get born today? What if you decide not to have newborn photos? What if you decide it’s not worth the cost? How many images do you really think you can put into frames? Maybe throughout the first year, you will have a bunch. But then, more kids come along. Newer baby pictures and sibling photos replace the old ones. But of all the things you spend money on for your baby, these photographs are the ONLY thing that will increase in value over time. As the years pass, you’ll be more and more glad that you have them.
In 30 years, what value will these images have on your families life? They will always hold the memory of when you first held your newborn baby in your arms, you will remember how small they once were and how tiny their little feet were. As they grow into adults they will want to see them, they may cringe a little bit but then knowing its them in their first week of life will be a special feeling, then when they themselves become parents their children will discover these newborn photos. Suddenly it’s worth every penny.
